Karmøy has been experiencing revivals many times through the centuries. People with a divine vision and a calling to preach the Good News have strongly influenced this island community. The density of churches and prayer houses is a testimony to the move of God in this place.

The island is by many simply called "The Holy Island"...

A church with focus on Jesus PDF Print E-mail

Folkets HusWe want to point at Jesus in all we do as a church. He says that when He is lifted up He will draw everyone to Himself. Even this site is developed with that same purpose: Bring the attention to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We also wish for you to find answers to the questions you may have about apostolic churches and ministries while surfing through these pages.

THE KEY IS FAITH IN JESUS. It is by faith in Jesus that this righteousness of God becomes ours. Romans 3:26 says: "... it was to prove at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he justifies him who has faith in Jesus."

Pentecostal Church in Kopervik PDF Print E-mail

Karmøy Apostolic Church is a Full Gospel, apostolic church, established in 2001. The church is non-denominational and does not belong to any traditional denomination, though it is no doubt that we are a pentecostal church in the right sense of the word.

The Apostles with fire and filled by The Holy Spirit in a church painting from Siena made by Duccio di Buoninsegna ca. 1310.The revival in Azuza Street in Los Angeles in 1906 is acknowledged to be the start of the pentecostal revival and movement of modern times. The baptism of The Holy Spirit and the power of pentecost got its worldwide breakthrough there. God used the afro-american pastor William J. Seymour expecting that the Church of God again could be filled with The Holy Spirit and power. The revival lasted for more than three years and touched people from several continents and from all parts of society. After a hundred years more than 600 million people belong to this "pentecostal movement".

Our church follow in the same tracks. Nearly 2000 years after the first disciples' encounter with The Holy Spirit, we experience that the same power equips and calls people into ministry today. With the same authority we preach the very same Gospel the apostles proclaimed in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the world. And we see the same confirmation by The Holy Spirit as we witness signs, wonders and miracles.

God be praised!
