LEADERSHIP
The church believes in a theocratic leadership principle. Jesus Christ is head of the Church. Jesus is therefore the leader of the Church. (Eph. 1:22-23, Col. 1:17-19)
THE SHEPHERD
Karmøy Apostolic Church believes that the pastor is to be called and chosen by God to lead the church under the headship of Christ. The pastor is the shepherd of the church and the administrative leader.
LEADERSHIP TEAM
The pastor chooses a group of mature believers with good report that according to the Bible are "elders who rule well" to function as co-leaders and advisors. This leadership team is primarily "elders" who are in the office of the fivefold ministry (Eph. 4:11-13, 1Tim. 5:17, 1Peter 5:1-3). These are supposed to stand shoulder to shoulder with the pastor as supporters and guardians of the vision of the church.
Everyone in the leadership team of the church must have the character of an elder as well as the maturity and the qualifications according to 1Tim. 3:1-13 and Titus 1:5-9. We believe that Jesus primarily gives gifts of ministry as leaders of His church, but that He also calls others into leadership functions. As a church and as a leadership we must recognize this calling in people He gives to us.
ADMINISTRATIVE COUNCEL
Pastor and leadership together chooses a group of mature believers with good report that according to the Bible are "elders who rule well" to function as co-leaders and advisors primarily in all administrative and economical matters.
