If you are born again and wish to live like a disciple of Jesus it is natural to be part of a local church fellowship. The Bible says that the disciples gave themselves first to the Lord and then to each other.
There are many different ideas of what the Church of God is. It is most important to understand that the Church is not a fellowship of religious oriented people who think the like and believe in the same things. The universal Church is the body of Christ where Jesus Himself is the Head. In a body there are many limbs, and so it is with the Church. There are many different kinds of churches, but they are all parts of the same body - fitted together. The same principle applies to the local church. You are meant to be a small part of the local part of the body of Christ.
