Receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour
BUT HOW DO I GET SAVED ?
The Bible says in Romans 10:9-10 "...because, if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved."
You get saved by believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confessing with your lips that Jesus is your Lord.
IS IT GOOD ENOUGH THAT I WAS BAPTIZED AS A CHILD ?
NO. A baby child cannot confess Jesus as Lord like Romans says.
WHAT'S THEN THE POINT OF BAPTIZING CHILDREN ?
None. We can look at this kind of baptism as a ritual of blessing, but there are NO salvation in the baptism; no putting away of our sin. The Bible says in 1Peter 3:21 "The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ..." (KJV)
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO IN ORDER TO GET SAVED THEN ?
If you now will give your life to Jesus, you can pray this prayer: "Dear heavenly Father, I accept your invitation and come to you in the name of your Son Jesus Christ. I come with all my sin, my pain and my afflictions. I turn away from all evil and turn to you, Jesus. I put my trust in you alone. You are the living Son of God. I believe in my heart what I now confess with my lips: You are my Saviour, my Lord and my God. Thank you for receiving me as your child. I receive your Holy Spirit and will follow you all of my days. I believe in you and receive you. Amen!"
CONGRATULATIONS! YOU ARE NOW BORN AGAIN - A NEW CREATION IN CHRIST.
